Vinod Kumar: invVEST Ambassador: Energy Storage, Alternative Energy for Transportation.
Vinod Kumar is committed to the vision of invVEST in fostering close business collaboration between USA and India in the area of sustainable energy. His interest is primarily in the transportation sector and in the promise of electric and fuel cell driven vehicles as alternatives to those using fossil fuels. He shares the vision of invVEST founder, Probir Ghosh, that both USA and India have to increase the pace of investment and joint initiatives in these areas to create sustainable economic growth for both countries while averting the effects of global warming.
Vinod Kumar’s educational qualifications are as follows: B. Tech., Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, India; MS, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, University of Notre Dame; MSE, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Princeton University; MS, Statistics, Iowa State University; MBA, Cornell University. He has worked for General Motors (US) since 1994, the last 10 years of which have been in the field of Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Battery packs for automotive applications. He has seven patents (issued/filed) in the area of fuel cells and automotive batteries.
